Spits lose on late Bloom goal

Updated: Dec 15, 2019

Josh Bloom scored in overtime to give the visiting Saginaw Spirit a 4-3 win Thursday night in Windsor. Egor Afanasyev tied the score at three in the second period. Neither team could find the back of the net in the third and the game looked to be headed to shootout when Josh Bloom drew a slashing call against Spits forward Tyler Angle. Bloom slipped the puck through Xavier Medina's five hole giving the Spirit the win and good start to a three-in-three weekend.
