Molson Masters celebrating 65th year

The match play portion of the 65th annual Molson Masters Bowling Classic has produced competitive groups of finalists in both the Open & Senior Divisions.

In the Open Division, Darren Alexander continues his excellent tournament by nabbing the #1 seed. Alexander, 2015 champ, was the high qualifier, where he shot a perfect 300 game, now he heads a field of 5 bowlers seeking the coveted Molson’s championship.

#2 seed, veteran lefty Marty Sanders is seeking his 1st title in an outstanding career. Defending champ, Dylin Hunter is the #3 seed. The always exciting Steve Walls Jr wants to get his elusive first title as the #4 seed. Former champ (2016) Dan Aqwa is attempting to run the table to secure his second championship.

The Senior Division has two former titlists, a veteran seeking his first title and a first time TV finalist. Rick Vittone the 1990 men’s champ holds the coveted #1 seed needing only one win to capture the title. Another past champ, Mark Labord, the 2004 men’s champ is the #2 seed. Mike Snow, no stranger to TV finals, is the #3 seed and is more than ready to secure his 1st title. The final #4 seed goes to Steve Martineau a first time TV finalist.

Since the entries were up this year, the prize fund also increased. The winner of the Open Division will walk away with $2500, while the Senior champ will take home $1200.

The YourTV Cogeco gets underway at 2pm this Saturday, February 15th. Another large crowd is expected to cheer on their favourite.
