Lancers gearing up for return

The University of Windsor has announced the reopening of the St. Denis Centre and Forge Fitness Centre on Monday October 5th. The facility will be limited to 50 people at a time.

Next week will also mark the return to training for varsity athletes. "We're happy to be able to offer our students, athletes and faculty the opportunity to return to the use of our sports and recreation facilities". said Athletic Director Mike Havey.

Softball will practice out of the Turtle Club in LaSalle. Beach Grove will host curling. Football returns to the newly surfaced Alumni Field. Track and Field will train outside while the basketball and volleyball teams practice in the St. Denis Centre.

"Excited for all of the athletes, students and department to be able to finallly get in the building in a safe manner and train". said women's head volleyball coach Lucas Hodgson.

According to school officials each team will get to train three times a week as they return to action for the first time since last season.

The OUA has no plans for league games until after December 31st. "One step at a time" said Havey.
