Fratmen bring rivals together

The St. Clair Fratmen Football team has added seven more players to their roster for the upcoming season. Barrie's Chris Costigan won a championship in his three season at Nantry Shores and brings versatility to the offensive line. An OFC allstar last season in Niagara head coach Mike Lachance feels Costigan will be a nice addition to what is shaping up to be a tough offensive line.

“Chris is an extremely physical player who finishes his blocks really well. He has the strength to be impactful at the point of attack but he also has the athletic ability to pull and get to the second level", said Lachance.

Defensive end Austin Colter won three titles with the Sarnia Imperials of the Northern Football Conference and brings strength and size to the team.

“We love what we see on film of Austin and we can't wait to coach that size on the edge,” said defensive co-ordinator Mike Morencie.

The defending WECSSA champions Herman Green Griffins are sending three grads to the Fratmen. Tiaje Holmes, Caleb Mastronardi and Chris Renaud will join forces with city rival Nick Brajkovic and Tyus Browning of Holy Names.

“We cannot have enough players from the pedigree programs like Holy Names and Herman,” said Morencie.

Check out the video and hear how Mastronardi and Brajkovic feel about leaving their past rivalry at the door to play on the same team.

Additional roster announcements for the St. Clair Fratmen will continue in the coming weeks.
